Bethel Grades 6-8 OAC Permissions & Waivers 25-26

The Miami County Park District is looking for adventurous 6th-8th grade students to be part of the Bethel Junior High School Outdoor Adventure Club (OAC).
How it works:
-You apply and sign waivers to become an OAC member.
-ONCE YOU START THE WAIVERS, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO LEAVE AND RETURN TO EDIT THEM. YOU MUST CHECKOUT TO SAVE THEM. YOU WILL RECEIVE A CONFIRMATION EMAIL AFTER CHECKOUT.
-Sign up for Remind.com to receive monthly invitations to take an adventure. Once a month, members (parents) will be invited through REMIND to participate in an adventure.
-Parents need to RSVP quickly as space may be limited. We can fit up to 14 students in each of our vans.
-OAC members, who have RSVP'd and received confirmation, will go to the park district van after school on the designated day. The van will be parked in the parent pick-up line.
-Members will be transported in the van to one of our county parks to experience outdoor adventures.
-Parents will usually pick up from the adventure location at 5:30 like parents from other participating schools. Occasionally, when we travel a far distance, we will bring Bethel kids back to Charleston Falls education parking lot for pick up. We will leave the adventure location at 5:30, and pick up time will be determined by how far away we travel.

Adventure possibilities run from September through May, with a possible summer adventure or two, and can include the following:
-Canoeing
-Archery
-Tube Float
-Caving
-Kite Flying
-Tapping Maple Trees
-Geocaching
-Corn Maze
-Biking
-Camping
-Tower Climbing and Zipline
-Ice Skating
-Sledding
-Disc Golfing
-And MORE!

If these adventures sound fun to you, please click the register button and fill out an application during the checkout process. There is no fee to join.

Note:

PLEASE PRINT NOTES & SCHEDULE

-This program is FREE. The most we will ask is that you supply a snack one month and food for the camp out.
-Applicants (including returning OAC members) must register and under the school they are enrolled in.
-Please apply for only the 6th-8th grade student(s) involved. If you have more than one student participating, you will need to complete permissions and waivers for each one.
-Once you have completed the waivers, you will receive a confirmation email. That is how you know your information saved. Then "Perennial" Marj will send you a welcome email, your school's OAC schedule, and how to sign up for events.
-PARENTS ARE REQUIRED TO SIGN UP FOR the REMIND.COM APP to receive invitations to each month's event, cancellation notices, reminders, etc. REMIND will no longer allow us to send texts so you MUST have the app to get the invitations. We have found Remind to the most reliable communication tool for OAC. If for any reason you cannot use Remind, please contact Perennial Marj (mgaskell@miamicountyparks.com). She will be happy to work with you!
-Please attend one of the Parent Meetings. This will give you an opportunity to ask questions, meet the leaders, and see other familiar faces interested in OAC. You may want to connect with those familiar faces to coordinate pick up from the park.
